![]() I just came back from test driving the Redline model. But, you can't even put a cup in this baby. Now, I know that you can't expect roadsters to be chock full of room. The biggest drawback is how there is absolutely NO ROOM!! The ride is very uncomfortable. For 175hp, it feels a lot more like the Ion's Ecotec 140hp engine in manual transmision. Take away its good looks and you've got a mediocre automobile, at best. ![]() One side opens automatically and other side needs manual lifting.kinda defeats the purpose of the 'pop' roof.Īdvice: Save your money on the Redline! Opt for looks, if neccessary, and get the standard model.Let me start off by stating the obvious: this car is gorgeous! Now, beyond that, it is flawed in many ways. A roof latch is asynchronous.can't fix problem- in 3 times for this as well. It has been hoisted up to 15 times in the last 5 months for repairs that are never repaired. A body expert has told me it is because of the vertical lifting of the car. Dealer is telling me i am responsible for these cracks in body even though bottom of car is unscathed. MOST UPSETTING is that now underside of car (rocker panels) are CRACKED. It has been serviced 3 times for oil leaks (rear differntial oil leak) Apparently it is a problem with some of these cars. My advice, test drive all your potential rides and you'll see the Saturn is for you.Ĭons: persisent rear differential oil leak and subsequent body cracks d/t repetitive liftsĪdvice: if you own one.please check for body cracks(rocker panels) after it has been liftedLove the look of the car.but am not really enjoying it. I didnt get 'that feeling' with the Honda/Mazda. Mazda - underpowered, unrefined and ugly. Honda - too expensive for what you get, engine rev's ridiculously high and seems to do nothing with the high rpm. I test drove the Honda S2000 and the Mazda MX-5, both of which could not stack up. The auther of this article has an apparent bias towards import manufacturers that can be found in many of his statements, so disregard his review. Power is great, its tremedous on fuel, and of course, the car is gorgeous. I have had my redline for six months now, 15,000 kms and have had NO problems with the car. The car is awsome. The Saturn Sky is hands down, the best value for your dollar if your looking to purchase a fun, reliable, affordable, stylish coupe. Cons: Storage space, but who cares this car is not meant for hauling.Īdvice: Test drive it, and you'll see that Christian Wardlaw is an idiot.
